The Children’s Centre was opened in 1995 to provide children and young people with complex needs and their families, easy access to a range of multi-agency, multi-disciplinary services provided by health, education and social care professionals.
The parent Organisations using the building are Humber NHS Foundation Trust, City Healthcare Partnership (CHCP), Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals Trust (HEY) and Hull City Council.
The services provided include assessment, treatment and therapy sessions delivered by speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, specialist paediatricians, diabetes, epilepsy, asthma, specialist community and learning disability nurses, mental health practitioners, social workers, portage and education workers.
There are a number of support groups who meet at the Children’s Centre on a regular basis out of normal working hours for children, young people, siblings and parents. One of these groups is the Walker Street Contact Centre.
